I was traveling through Colorado on my way to California and my check engine light came late on a Friday. I arrived here as they were closing and the owner (Steve) stayed open and took the time to check diagnostics. It would need to be put on his testing equipment and take a lot of time to determine the cause of the errors found. He was confident that I would be ok driving onto California based on what could detect. He told me to call if by chance there was a failure on the way and he would find the closest best garage that could make repairs on my VW. Very knowledgeable man…appreciate the help.

930 appointment on a Thursday. Dropped my car off on tuedsay. Monday morning still had not even been looked at
I had high hopes of finding a nice non dealership shop but this will not be it.

Or AC broke as we were approaching Grand Junction on our way home to California. Even though Steve had a full shop of repairs he agreed to check out our AC first thing the next morning. He got our AC working quickly so we could continue comfortably on our trip. I appreciated the kindness, professionalism, and competence displayed by his staff and by Steve himself.

Betsy and the crew were incredibly helpful and nice! One of the best car repair experiences I’ve ever had. Seems everyone in town knows and respects this shop. Even the VW dealership sent us there! Five stars for sure!
Brett Krueger
Extremely professional and helpful for emergency maintenance on a MINI Cooper as I traveled along I-70. Highly recommended.

Steve and his staff were wonderful. We were traveling in a hurry and had a breakdown near Delta, and the garages there wouldn’t even look at our car for three weeks, so we towed it to Grand Junction, and they repaired it the next day. They are extremely knowledgable about Vanagons and reviewed everything to assure there wasn’t any other problems. The staff was amazing, Betsy the receptionist really keeps in touch and arranges things, Hans is one of the mechanics and very helpful. Steve has worked for many years with Vanagons and knows everything about them. And the price was right – fair and very reasonable. We were very lucky to find them.

Betsy and Steve lost for words just a blessing to know you guys and have you work on my car thank you for being very professional and always communicating although you are extremely busy you both are the true definition of customer service for the community, nothing but blessings 🙌.

Steve is a skilled mechanic who prioritized fixing my car and got it running smoothly so I could continue on my drive to Oregon. He is a very direct and blunt communicator, but that was ok since his results were good and his price was logical for the work he did. His assistant Betsy is very helpful as well

Last week the air conditioner on my 2015 VW Passat stopped putting out cool air. With out-of-state friends flying in for a week and with the oppressive July heat upon us we found ourselves in a desperate situation; get the AC fixed ASAP or get a rental car at the local airport. Who wants to drive through Arches National Park in July with the windows down?!!
Fortunately, the team (Steve, Alex and Betsy) at The Foreign Aid chose to respond in a timely manner. Though busy with a backlog of other repairs owner Steve Stewart called and told me to bring in the car. They performed a diagnostic on the AC unit, identified and solved my the problem within two hours! The AC is performing beautifully and I was able to cancel the rental car reservations. The Foreign Aid is my new GO-TO auto service provider!
I am exceedingly pleased with their service, the cost of work performed and their efficiency. Good people doing excellent work. Exceptional customer service. I recommend The Foreign Aid without reservation!

DO NOT TAKE YOU CAR HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Volvo had been there since October and it is still not fixed. I did not get calls before they did things to my car. They would not tell me a price. They where just changing out parts to fix my car.Steve is rude and has some issues maybe drinking who knows. I now owe $2500 and my car still has check engine lights on and now the gas runs out at 1/4 tank because the fuel pump he installed that DID NOT fix anything is don wrong. He won’t let me pay with a card wants cash. I am taking him to court.

These are some of the nicest people I have come across! I was out there on a 5 hour drive for a contest when my Cayenne started spilling coolant in the hotel parking lot. I called them the next day, because of the good google reviews I saw, and explained my stranded traveling situation. He was willing to help me and check my car out that day. They helped me get a rental for the day as well, during the extremely busy country jam weekend. It ended up being a blown water pump. He had it fixed within 24 hours, at a great price for what it was, and I had a flawless 5 hour drive back home. Highly, highly recommend them!

I have an older Volvo that I’m currently driving from SoCal to Western North Carolina and pulling my pop up trailer. I felt I wasn’t getting the power I needed for the trip, therefore, I went into a Volvo truck sales center and was referred to The Foreign Aid to help with my car.
I called and spoke with Steve the owner, who told me to bring it in at 9 am, so Zack can look at the car. Steve is a super nice guy and was very understanding and great with explaining what issues could be happening.
Zack began working on my car and explained the codes the diagnostic meter found. Zack also was very helpful explaining the other issues that could possibly arise down the road for me. Zack even found a problem I had a prior mechanic work on with my oil drain plug and he fixed it for me.
If you are ever in the area or live in the area and have a Volvo, this is definitely the place to take it to for any kind of service whether it be a problem with the vehicle or just general maintenance. If I lived here, there would be no reason I would want anyone else to work on my Volvo.
As I am disabled veteran, the owner Steve Stewart, is a big volunteer and supporter towards veterans and I thank him for all his time and support.
The Foreign Aid is a top notch shop and I’d liked to thank them for everything they have done for me and my Volvo.

Super friendly front staff. Steve fixed my VW quickly and at a very fair price, much cheaper than VW dealership who asks $135 just to diagnose. Very relieved to have them here
