Owner was very frank I wasn’t comfortable enough to do my business with him. Wasn’t that he was wrong about my car, just didn’t like his vocabulary.

Went in to see if “Brandon Faith”, worked there. The snake didn’t, he sells lemon cars and isn’t trust worthy. However, had the pleasure of speaking with the owner and he was wonderful! Very kind and easy great to work with! Affordable and trustworthy! Wouldn’t take my cars anywhere else!

Steve & The Foreign Aid team went above and beyond helping me diagnose and troubleshoot my automobile issues, even though I didn’t actually bring my vehicle in and wasn’t charged anything. Extremely generous and timely response to help me. Thanks!

The extremely rude owner quoted me $1000 more than the Volkswagen dealership!! The dealership charged less without any form of warranty! This place is a scummy business that preys on idiots. Why would anyone come here to be berated and swindled?

I received excellent service from this shop! I was in a peculiar situation were I had a Vanagon towed 250 miles away to this shop while I was in Brazil and they were more than understanding! I highly recommend them.

Steve and his crew have only one thing on their mind: Fix your car, do it right, do it as quickly as possible and give you a fair price. I've had foreign cars for decades, and I only wish I had discovered Foreign Aid when I got my first one. The good news is that I found Foreign Aid a few years ago and so long as  I own a European car it'll be the only place I'll go. Don't know how many times I've stopped there with a minor problem –check engine light, for example — and Steve has stopped whatever he was doing, cleared the light then and there and sent me on my way. No charge.

Steve was awesome. I brought by VW van in, concerned I was having electrical issues, but after a thorough eval Steve determined nothing was wrong and sent me on my way. He was thoughtful and clearly knowledgable about Vanagons. I'll trust Steve with all my future VW needs in Grand Junction

The Foreign Aid did a full transmission and clutch replacement on my 1989 VW Westaflia. The work was well done and at a very fair price. I’m very particular about anyone else doing work on my vehicles and after meeting Steve and seeing the shop in GJ, I was very pleased and felt great about having his crew do the repairs. I highly recommend Steve and the Foreign Aid for any VW Vanagon/Westfalia repairs. Thanks Steve, the Westy is back in action!

Our ’84 Volkswagen Vanagon stopped running while on a roadtrip in Moab, UT. We eventually ended up at The Foreign aid in Grand Junction. On short notice, Steve, the owner, went out of his way to fit us in the next morning, despite how busy they were. He had us in the shop by 8am. These guys know their way around Volkswagens, BMWs, and other imports. Him and his team found the issue very quickly (a faulty computer), and had us all fixed up and back on the road that afternoon, the same day. Steve’s customer service is fantastic; he constantly keeps you updated on the status of your vehicle. Him and his team genuinely care about what they do, and it shows in the quality of their work and service, and for a very fair price. Would very highly recommend.

Steve worked hard to match our schedules. He greeted me on my arrival, and got to work. First off was a careful inspection which revealed some issues previous inspectors had missed. These he pointed out carefully and clearly, and then got to work. Every step was explained, every effort made to keep costs under control. A great find. I’ll be back.

So, I’m driving from the beach in California, and to Boulder CO where our Corporate Rocky Mountain office is for our corporation, Sales Pro Inc. and I badly need an oil change in my Porsche Carrera. We have specialized in crafting Sales & Marketing strategies for launching and expanding businesses for over 40 years, and with a client list that includes and is NOT limited to Google, MS, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Berkshire Hathaway, 20th Century Fox, The Aspen Skiing Corporation, BOA, Wells, Citi, AIG Industries, John Deere, Case, Caterpillar, American Airlines, United Airlines, Weston Hotels, Hilton, Hyatt, and over 3000 small Ma & Pa businesses…so you get the idea of our scope in crafting strategies that grow and increase customer base over the years. I blindly called Foreign Aid from a Google search and discovered a REALLY GREAT AUTO SHOP, and a even BETTER owner/operator in STEVE STEWART. Long story made short, I got the oil change the same day when in reality he was booked for two weeks, and I acquired a really good buddy that REALLY knows his profession, and is phenomenally excellent at service & setting price. Before you WASTE your time/money elsewhere…call Steve!

Steve is my savior! On a trip from Monterey, CA to Colorado Springs, Steve was able to expedite my repairs and even help me recoup money I had spent (for the same repair!) in Las Vegas. I’m so grateful, Jim, the tow truck driver who picked me up in Green River knew and recommended Steve. He saved me, and saved the car I love so much! You should but a foreign car just so Steve can fix it 😎!

Although I had already had my car diagnosed and it needed a CV boot per last inspection. These guys charged my 48.88$ to tell me yes I do, then changes a tail light for 48.88 more. If I could have afforded the repair before I can’t now! They also said I needed two boots now and a new axel! What the dealership just diagnosed this last week, can you say upselling! Never coming back!

I have a 2001 VW Jetta GLX with 125K miles mostly highway, own it since new. Being that the car is 18 years old there were bound to be problems to be addressed but I love the car and been taking care of it to enjoy it for a good long time. The cooling system started leaking and I brought it in for repair, shortly after the repair the water-pump failed which needed to be replaced, to which I was not happy about just spending for the first repair and a week later facing another repair bill. Steve could see I was not a happy camper and offered to work with me and cut cost in a reasonable manner for the second job. The repair was done as discussed and in a timely manner. Now you think I’d be done but another week goes by and my check Engin light comes on and I get an “Emissions Workshop” warning. My Wife is pleading with me to give up the car but I take it in a third time only to find Steve looking out of his garage window starring at my Jetta with a look on his face that said NOT AGAIN…… He hooked up his computer up to my car then opened the hood proceeded to open the hood to find a rotted vacuum hose that fixed it and had me on my way in 10 minutes no charge. Steve’s the MAN

Wish you could give a negative star. Oh my bad. That’s his answer to not returning phone calls. Idiot.. I would push my car to Denver in a snow storm before I let this idiot work on it. I don’t think I would trust him working on a hot wheels car. Needs a lesson in customer service and a reality check, he is not a god of cars. Worthless.. Stevie just worthless

While driving my daughter from Southern CA to CU Boulder, our 2005 MBZ SLK 350 broke down in Grand Junction in the late evening – it lost all of its oil and couldn't be driven – luckily we made it to a truck stop where it could be parked overnight.  I called Steve in the morning, explained our situation, and he immediately said for us to bring the car to him.  I had it towed to Steve's place and he spent his time in the morning diagnosing what could be wrong with the car.  It was not obvious where the oil leak was coming from, so repairing the car wasn't going to be a problem that could be fixed in a day. I rented a car in Grand Junction to get my daughter to Boulder in time for classes and left the car with Steve.  What was supposed to be a two day stay in Boulder ended up being a week but 1) I can't complain about being stuck in Boulder and 2) Steve communicated with either me or my husband on a daily basis (multiple times a day) to let us know what was happening with the car, when the parts would be in, and if, in fact, the car was completely repaired.  Unfortunately, the car has other issues and we have transported it back to CA but the work Steve did ensured we were able to safely get the car to Boulder and better evaluate our options.  When Steve realized there were other issues with the car and understood  we needed to get it to Boulder where we could choose to leave it sit or bring it home, he assured us that the car was safe to drive from Grand Junction to Boulder (through two big mountain passes) and we absolutely trusted him.  He showed he could be trusted and he genuinely cared not only about the well-being of the car but of my safety driving it back to Boulder. Steve is incredibly knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him.

Not impressed with service. Over priced for work that was done.

This review is two parts from two visits to Foreign Auto. The first visit I was told I needed a battery that was not lead acid and not programmed from auto Haus. I have had nothing but bad experiences here.

I had to take my car to another place to price out the quote from Steve. He not only quoted me very high to fix my BMW I feel that my lack of knowledge of the mechanical fix was something he took advantage of. The battery replacement seemed suspicious too. I would like to let anyone considering foriegn auto to get a second opinion or educate yourself on what exactly is being done with proof.amongst other work that added up to an amount that I was not willing to pay.

I’ve had a run of bad luck with car issues over the past few years, and a similar bad luck with mechanics. I actually found the Foreign Aid after having a problem that two other mechanics in Grand Junction were baffled by. One of theme referenced me to Steve, and so long as he keeps providing the level of service I’ve come to expect from him, I don’t see myself needing to find another mechanic ever again.

Overall the service is excellent. Consistently, when I bring my car to Steve, the problem is identified correctly and promptly, and then resolved quickly and efficiently (and always for a competitive price). I also appreciate that Steve takes the time to walk me through the problem with my car over the phone before he requests permission to order parts and start work, and gives me an accurate and reasonable quote on the price every time.

Like I said, I plan on returning to the Foreign Aid with any car issues I may have in the future, and I would (and will) absolutely reference my friends and family to them. Thanks for everything Steve, and I hope I won’t be seeing you too soon 🙂
