We were recently travelling through Grand Junction on our way to Arches National Park when the Check Engine light came on in our BMW.  Steve was able to get us in right away and ran diagnostics on the car and double checked the results with the diagnostics company.  He confirmed we were good to continue to Arches and on to our home in Oregon.  Great professional service.  Wish Steve was in Oregon to be our regular mechanic.

Steve and Harold help me out to unmeasurable extents. They are extremely knowledgeable amd highly experienced. My van Broke down 30 miles from grand junction. I got a tow to their shop and they were able to work us into their extremely busy schedules and send us back on the road the next day. I can’t thank these guys enough.

If you need your car looked at in the grand junction area… GO TO THE FOREIGN AID!!!!

We lost our keys to our old Lexus. The easy option everyone suggested was tow it the dealership! Which is in Denver! Fortunately for us, Steve did his magic! Not sure what he had to do but I think we are going to be able to have keys WITHOUT towing the car 242.9 miles!!! Thank you Steve for all you do.

Steve took care of a quick diagnostic on my BMW while I was passing through town on a road trip. He was very knowledgable, honest, and fair. I’d highly recommend this shop.

Thanks again Jessica and Steve! It was such a joy working with you both today! We were happy to know our beloved, old, Volvo can bring someone else joy! Your work to support veterans is inspiring.

Please do not ever go to this mechanic. I have never in my life had such a horrible experience with a business owner or with a mechanic. We brought our car to him and he ruined the leather seat and then called us liars. I have driven foreign cars my entire life, and never once had a situation where the mechanic actually made the car worse than when we brought it in. We are about to be in a lawsuit and you do not need this in your life. There are far too many mechanics out there to get caught up with this one. Message us if you would like to see the nasty texts he has been sending us. We will now need over $2,000 of repairs from his service.

Driving from Los Angeles to Taos, I stopped overnight in Grand Junction with a car that started idling like crap somewhere in Utah. Not a comforting situation when you're 700 miles from home. Fortunately I was directed to The Foreign Aid where Steve diagnosed my issue & had me fixed up & back on the road in an hour at a fraction of what I feared I would have to pay.. Having been in this kind of situation before where I got fleeced, I can't emphasize enough how relieved and grateful I was. I found Steve to be straightforward and honest. He not only got me back on the road…he helped renew my faith in humanity a bit more. Many thanks to Steve & his crew!

I own 3 German cars and none of them are covered by any sort of factory warranty.  I live almost 250 miles from the nearest BMW dealership and getting any sort of work done on my cars is a real pain in the butt to say the least…. until I found Steve and The Foreign Aid. Now I take all 3 of my cars to Steve for ALL of their required service and maintenance and I couldn't be happier. Steve has a passion for German cars and it shows. He is very knowledgeable and resourceful and gets the job done right. I have always felt that I was treated fairly and was charged honestly for the work that was done. No doubt BMW's are expensive cars to maintain and to expect otherwise is ridiculous. What you should expect is honesty and Steve is as honest as they come.

I took my car in to have it looked at and was told it was a blown headgasket or cracked block. The “free estimate ” that he wanted $600 for, that no work was done to the car at all but drained the coolant. I said I would get a second opinion. Steve the owner told me after I paid to get my keys back that he filled my coolant with only water in the middle of the winter with below freezing everyday night. So I took it to modern classic Motors and it was less then a $200 fix no blown headgasket or cracked block. I would just say stay away.

Terrible…. Took my VW to them when i was younger just 16 at the time. They said they would give me a FREE estimate of what needed fixed… Three days later they hit me with a list of problems and a bill for over $200 bucks! Thats not FREE so they lied to me then asked me if i wanted them to put my car back together for another $200 bucks! Crooks who try to rip off kids or women!

My kids and I were near the beginning of a 16 day road trip around the country. We had just driven through the Rockies in Colorado and arrived in Moab, UT, when my check engine light came on. I stopped by Arches Auto Repair in Moab and they recommended I go to The Foreign Aid back in Grand Junction. Reluctantly (because I didn’t want to disturb our schedule) I drove back to Grand Junction and met with Steve at The Foreign Aid. Steve was awesome! He already had parts ordered, based on Arches’ suggestions and error codes, by the time we arrived. He had has team working on our vehicle to get us back on the road within 2 days. That’s awesome, considering we had a blown Turbo, and broken engine mounts. While we missed a couple of days at some of the National Parks, we truly only missed what amounted to a hike down into the Grand Canyon. Other than that, we were back on schedule by that Thursday (we dropped the car off on Monday afternoon and got it back on Wednesday). And while we were in GJ, we were able to visit Colorado Nat’l Park and other things to keep the kids happy. All in all it was a great experience with The Foreign Aid, Steve and his team. We truly appreciate him getting us back on the road so we could enjoy our trip!

Man oh man. Audi broke down near Grand Junction on our way to Omaha, so we brought it to Steve and his guys. It was near the weekend and they don’t work on the weekend, which could have been a disaster because we would have missed school. Luckily, Steve and his guys put me in priority cuz of our situation, and did all their best to do it quickly, and correct all while keeping the price down! You gotta come here, great people! The town ain’t too bad either, you can play pool and drink :]

They showed us TERRIBLE SERVICE. The woman at the front desk was really nice but the mechanic was a jerk who treated me like I was a child. We called and the woman told us they would give our car a FREE look at to see what was wrong and before they did any work they would call. That NEVER happened. I had to call them to see where they were at and they started working on our car without our permission and charged us for the look at after they told us it was free. If my Husband didn’t call them when he did they would have put over $400 in work we never asked them to do. And when I asked the mechanic why he didn’t call or ask us if he could continue work after the look at, he just treated me like I was some child and didn’t know what I was talking about. We will never do business here again. I’d rather travel then deal with them again.

I had a sudden cylinder coil misfire with my Audi while I was in Grand Junction for the day. Foreign Aid made all the difference in preventing a disaster of a day. Steve and his staff were helpful, honest, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced – and got me back on the road as fast as possible. They clearly take pride in their clean and orderly garage, and their customer service is efficient and superb. Even though they are well out of my way, I will make them my go-to mechanic.

Steven and his friendly team helped with a Check Engine light on a long commute across the US heading west in my BMW. They got right on the job and ran diagnostic. Steve said I was safe to travel on and told me where to find help at my final destination for a minor repair. I made it safely to my destination without a problem! Thank you for getting me on my way safely and quickly. Thanks for the peace of mind!

I had my alternator die on me on my way into Utah and managed to make it back to this shop. The service was ridiculously fast; they managed to get me back on the road in only a day. If I had been only a few miles down the road I was told that the same part would’ve taken about TWO WEEKS to come in. The owner even had his wife who happened to be in Denver pick up the part herself and bring it back so it would get there even faster! Prices on the part and labor were very fair, especially considering how fast the service was. I can definitely say that if you have a German car, this is the place to go!

Steve saved me! We were just passing through GJ and late in the day we had a problem with our Audi. Steve and his crew stayed late and he still took the time to educate me on proper service and fluids for our relatively newer Audi. He corrected some previous shoddy service and made some recommendations regarding service intervals and requirements for our car that will keep us on the road for years to come. There’s no Audi service in our town, but I would consider driving 2 hours just to have Steve and his crew service our car. Prices are extremely reasonable given Steve’s highly specialized knowledge of German cars especially. I would highly recommend The Foreign Aid to anyone.
